BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION / BLACK COUNTRY (2010)

BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION is a new super-group that consists of the 'mighty' Glenn Hughes on lead vocals, Jason Bonham on drums, Joe Bonamassa on guitars and Derek Sherinian of Dream Theater on keys. So with a line-up like this the expectations were high enough!!

The sound of "Black Country" is pure 70's hard rock with a pinch of blues elements. Glenn Hughes voice is on top form and the guy delivers some really great performances here! But I think that the one who shines here is Joe Bonamassa. This guitarist has such a great feeling when he is playin' the six-string! He can 'jump' so easy from hard rock forms to some bluesier things without being boring. The other two members fit perfectly with the whole result and it seems that this band is together for long time. My only arguement here is that I would prefer some heavier tunes or even more inspiration from these guys.

All in all this is well-crafted hard rock blues album with some pretty good tracks in it. Maybe, and if there is going to be a second album, the guys will offer a stronger effort.
