Nelson / After The Rain (1990)

This is a very good debut album from Nelson brothers! Somewhere between AOR and U.S. hair metal, 'After The Rain' may not be a classic in the hard rock history but for sure it's solid and very enjoyable. Strong hooks, big choruses, the 'must' ballads and a couple of MTV video clips and there you have 'After The Rain'.
I think that this album contains some fillers but the most of the songs here are good to excellent!
'After the Rain' is the first highlight of the album. A pure melodic hard rock anthem that grabs you from the very first notes. Huge melodies and a catchy as hell chorus line. One of my favourite tracks ever. 'Only Time Will Tell' was the second video/hit from this album. Here we have the typical 80's, early 90's power ballad.  'Love and Affection'  is another one very good track. It starts slowly with some acoustic guitars and gets better and better while it continues. Some nice melodies and pretty good guitar work. 'Bits and Pieces' is almost perfect! A heavier tune with an ultra catchy chorus. From the rest of the tracks, 'I Can Hardly Wait' & 'Will You Love Me?' are both good rockers. All in all this is a very good album, maybe the best of Nelson to date, with some really strong moments in it.
