REVIEW : Angeline --- "This Time, Volume 2" (E.P., 2019)

Angeline is a melodic hard rock/AOR band that hails from Sweden. The band was originally founded back in 1987 in a town called Ljusdal in the lower part of Sweden. The band's first demo wa released back in 1988 with the title "The Legend" and made it to third place in a rock chart in England!!!!

After some line-up changes, the band released its mini LP entitled "Don't Settle For Second Less" in 1990. That year Angeline participated in a festival with big names such as Pretty Maids and Candlemass.

The years that followed Angeline recorded and released several E.P.'s and a few full-length albums and kept their name alive and kickin'. Nowadays, the band strikes back with its brand new E.P. which is entitled "This Time, Volume 2" and includes 4 brand new tracks.

The opening tune of "20 To Life" is simply great! Very Def Leppard-ish with this sweet to the bone chorus line enough to make you sing-a-long "20 To Life" is just great!!! Next, we have the more up-tempo and groovier tune of "This Time" which is solid while in "N.Y.C." we have probably the best track here. More melodic, more commercial and with a great chorus again "N.Y.C." sounds the perfect summer song!!! The song that closes this almost perfect E.P. is entitled "Anything At All" and this time the band is getting heavier, bigger and louder but with this Def Leppard vibe to haunt each and every single moment here!!! Love it!!!

One of the best mini albums, or if you prefer E.P.'s, that I had the privilege to listen to this year. I'm not overreacting here, Angeline took the best of Def Leppard's best period they put their own identity and delivered a strong 4-track album that it's pure magic!!! If you love Def Leppard (as I do...) or if you just love melodic hard rock/AOR with class and quality, then you HAVE to check "This Time" right now!!!!!!

Rating : 9,5/10
