REVIEW : JIM PETERIK WORLD STAGE --- Winds of Change (Frontiers Music s.r.l., Release: 26 April 2019)

"Winds Of Change" is the follow-up to Jim Peterik's solid “Jim Peterik’s World Stage” opus. This new amazing record is set to be released, through Frontiers Music s.r.l., on April 26th. "Winds Of Change" features an all-star line-up of some of the best vocalists in the melodic hard rock/AOR scene such as (hold your breath.....) Kevin Chalfant (ex-The Storm), Dennis DeYoung (ex-Styx), Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, Kelly Keagy (Night Ranger), Lars Safsund and Robert Sall (Work Of Art), Toby Hitchcock (Pride Of Lions), Danny Vaughn (Tyketto), Mike Reno (Loverboy), Kevin Cronin (REO Speedwagon), Jason Scheff (ex-Chicago), and a very special previously unreleased track by the late great Jimi Jamison

So with such an amazing line-up and with a so talented musician such as Jim Peterik nothing can go wrong, that's a sure thing! “Since the success of my first World Stage album back in 2001 and countless shows since, I have wanted to create a new musical legacy with this format,” says Jim. "Listening to voices blending as one has always inspired me, going back to the Beatles and other great vocal groups. I decided to do the same thing and began contacting artists I had the pleasure of working with through the years."

Most of the songs here include an early Survivor vibe (that was logical..), a few Pride Of Lions 'pinches'  but are also influenced by bands such as Queen, The Beatles and other classic rock bands.

The opening tune of "Winds Of Change" 'smells' Pride Of Lions/Survivor from miles away. It's a classic melodic rock song with a strong chorus line and some excellent guitar licks in it. For sure, the first highlight out of the new record. Mike Reno of Loverboy gives to the amazing "Without A Bullet Being Fired" an extra more edgy feeling while in "Sometimes You Just Want More" (feat. Kevin Chalfant) we have a killer AOR anthem and of course this is one of my personal favorites here.

Toby Hitchcock collaborates once again with Jim Peterik and they both create another masterpiece. "Home Fires" is again a true melodic rock/AOR gem that could easily appear in any of Pride Of Lions albums. Melodic rock paradise along with Toby's passionate vocals, this is killer! "The Hand I Was Dealt" (featuring Danny Vaughn of Tyketto) is powerful and in a kinda way more 'epic' while in  "Where Eagles Dare" (Lars Safsund and Robert Sall) we have a very beautiful slow song filled with the amazing vocals of Lars Safsund. In "I Will What I Want", Kelly Keagy performs a damn 'punchier' rocker. The Nelson brothers deliver a more 80's 'party' rock vibes in "Avalanche" and that's a song that will fall in love all the die-hards of NELSON.

Check out the track that features the late Jimi Jamison (R.I.P.) which is entitled "Love You All Over The World". This is probably THE best track of the album and a track that will wake memories from a great musician that we are all missing.

"Winds Of Change" is an album that if you love quality, solid and melodic rock music, you HAVE to add it to your collection. For the true rock fans from a legendary musician such as Jim Peterik is.......
