REVIEW : AFTER THE FALL --- My Confession (RFL Records, 30 November 2018)

After the Fall is a four piece hard rock band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The band was formed back in 2003 and, after several line-up changes, they are now stronger than ever to present us their powerful and full of attitude hard rock stuff.

With the release of their single, "Rumors" back in September of 2013, and their full length record, released in the summer of 2015, "My Confession", After the Fall kicked their career into high gear, winning the Iron City Rocks Pittsburgh Music Awards for "Best Rock Band" (2014 and 2015), and "Album of the Year" (My Confession).

Their music recalls to bands of the late 80's, early 90's, hard rock scene yet still sounds fresh, modern and updated. To be honest, I have never heard about these guys before. The first big moment comes with the opener tune of "SMF"!!!! This is just a damn powerful, in-your-face and with lots of attitude hard rock thunder ready to tear your house down!!! So much energy in this track that makes me wonder why I didn't hear about this band before!! Imagine something between Skid Row and heavier Motley Crue and you'll get the picture. In "Walls", "Call To Arms", "Rumors" and "For Me" we have some really excellent, hands in the air and powerful hard rock stuff. All the above mentioned tracks are full of heavy to the bone guitars, big groove, powerful vocals and some catchy enough hooks enough to make you sing-a-long!! "Faker" is yet another killer tune out of "My Confession". This is just a huge melodic heavy rock gem that takes no prisoners with. I really love the 'classy' guitars (just check out the solo here) here along with the great melodic line.

Boom!!!! I didn't see that coming, really. One of the biggest surprises, so far, of 2018 is without any doubt After The Fall's "My Confession". In one word this albums smokes!!! Killer hard rock stuff with some thunderous guitars, blasting drumming, powerful performances and with plenty songs to bang your head "My Confession" is a damn fine record and a must have purchase for those who love their hard rock loud and dirty!!!

Rating : 9/10
