TOBIAS SAMMET's AVANTASIA / THE MYSTERY OF TIME (2013)

Tobias Sammet's Avantasia began their journey as a project but after all those years and after six official releases they can be considered a full time band!! The band's strongest point was always Sammet's songwriting and the impressive list of guests in every release.

So, for this album, Sammet collaborate with some of the 'biggest' names of todays' hard 'n' heavy scene such as Joe Lynn Turner, Biff Byford, Michael Kiske, Eric Martin, Ronnie Atkins, Bruce Kulick and Bob Catley among others. So, with an artist such Sammet and an impressive guest list you can't go wrong!! "The Mystery Of Time" is a very enjoyable album with some brilliant tunes in it, powerful performances by those great artists, great arrangements and a tight musicianship. The sound of the album this time is movin' to a more melodic hard rock paths and the final result will please every single fan of the band's previous recordings. There are plenty of remarkable tunes here like the epic and Rainbow-esque "The Watchmaker's Dream" which Turner sings his heart out, the amazing modern rocker "Sleepwalking", my personal favorite in-your-face "Invoke The Machine" which features Ronnie Atkins of Pretty Maids and the slower tune of "What's Left Of Me" with the amazing Eric Martin.

All in all, this is another high quality album by Tobias Sammet's Avantasia. The vocal performances are top notch and there is enough of melodic 'magic' in every single moment of this record. I enjoyed this album a lot....so hurry up and get your copy now!
