WHITE FLAME / COUGAR (2012)

The quartet from Finland have been in the music business since 2002 releasing two albums and making some noise hitting two #1 singles in the Scandinavian chart. After three years since their last album, finally White Flames' third CD "Cougar" is out and aiming for some bigger things!!

Their music is simple and combines all the elements of the 80's, early 90's, hard rock/hair metal sound mixed with a 'modern' hard rock air and the result is overall solid. The vocal performances are passionate in a sleazy kinda way with cool riffs/solos and a tight rhythm section!  From the opening rockin' anthem of "Get What's Mine", White Flame invites you to their world and believe me it's going to be a hell of a ride!! "I Know Where You Live" is a great melodic hard rock song while the "Right Back In" is one of the best tracks here. The album includes an extremely interesting cover of Roxette's classic tune of "The Look".

Overall this is a solid album all the way. There are some really great tunes in it and a feel-good 80's vibe that make this cd one of this year's pleasant surprises. Also, one of the strongest points here is the stunning production which is handled by the mighty Chris Laney.
