"5 guys that playing Rock 'N' Roll"...this is the way that the band introduces their selves and "XTC" is the band's first demo! Like many 'new' bands, they went through several line-up changes till they finally started recordings of their own stuff.
69 Shots is heavenly influenced by the U.S sleaze heavy metal scene and bands such as Guns N Roses and Aerosmith but, also, from the new wave of Swedish sleaze scene and bands such as Crashdiet and Hardcore Superstar. They, also, added some 'modern' pinches and the result is "XTC".
"Body Exploration" brings back memories from Guns N Roses earlier stuff and that's a good thing. The guitar work is sleazy and the song has a nice groove in it. The singer is tryin' to sound like Axl's deadringer and I have to admit that he is doin' a decent work. "Die Without A Last Wish" has more attitude and features some in-your-face guitar sound and it's another very good example of the 80's U.S. scene. "Try To Find Me" is a winner!! Yes, although this is a slower tune it's the highlight from this demo! Another Guns N Roses' influenced song which features a cool slide guitar work and a 'smoothier' vocal performances that is giving' an extra flavor!
Overall, this is a solid release. I have to say that this band has plenty of talent and that's a thing that reflects to their music. All they need is a good record deal, a 'fat' production and work.....and who knows maybe in the near future we will hear some bigger things from them!!
