It's prettty difficult when it comes to write a review about this legendary band! Whitesnake have influenced a whole scene. Their music was and still is amazing to me. Tracks like "Fool For Your Lovin'", "Here I Go Again", "Is This Love", to name a few, will always be classics. The strong and 'warm' voice of David Coverdale will always be the biggest trademark of this really huge band and it was a pleasure that the snakes came back with "Good To Be Bad" in 2008. Maybe it wasn't the comeback that everyone wished for but, for sure, it was a very good album. In my humble opinion, the strongest point in that album was the excellent guitar work by Doug Aldrich (Bad Moon Rising, Lion, Burning Rain e.t.c.). Aldrich is one of the best guitar players out there and his playin' reminds me a bit that of John Sykes'.
So, 2011 and the brand new Whitesnake album is a fact! "Forevermore" is an album that will please every single fan of this band, that's for sure. From the very first listening, it brings back memories from the band's "Slide It In" and "Slip Of The Tongue" albums with a fresh more 'Aldrich air'! The band sounds better than ever and Mr. Coverdale's voice is on top form!! Yes, it's unbelievable how strong he is sounding after all those years!! Reb Beach's contribution is more obvious than ever and I 'm sure that this album will be a classic one besides "1987", "Slide It In" and 'Slip Of The Tongue". There isn't one bad moment here, everything is perfect! The new members, Michael Devin and Brian Tichy, matched up perfectly with the rest of the snakes and together they created this new masterpiece.
It's really difficult to pick up a song from the new Whitesnake album as a favourite 'cause every single track here rocks big time! From the heavy rockers to the mid-tempos, ala "Now You're Gone" or "The Deeper The Love", all the tracks are perfectly delivered with such a unique way. So, all in all, this is Whitesnake in 2011 and with albums like this I'm sure that this gerne and especially the old school of hard rock is here to stay! Well done!!!
