TEN / STORMWARNING (2011)

The truth is that I never was a big TEN's fan, but their first two albums will always have a special place in my collection. Especially their debut album was, and still is, a great sample of European hard rock stuff full of great performances and amazing tracks! Their 2001's release, "Far Beyond The World", was, also, a very good album. So, nowadays, TEN is releasing the brand new "Stormwarning" and they are ready to rock our world.

Firstly, there's been a change in TEN's line-up for this album. The new members, Neil Fraser on lead guitars, Mark Sumner on bass and Mark Zonder, have given a brand new and a more updated 'air' to the band's sound. The production of the mighty Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69) made a 'bigger' sound and the result of all the above is "Stormwarning".  So, what we are going to hear from this new album is a classic TEN album full of passionate performances, a strong as a 'rock' rhythm section, great tracks with an epic feeling and a solid production!

There is a perfect balance between the ballads and the more hard rockin' tunes here and the album in its final result will please the listener. Tracks like "Stormwarning" , "Book of Secrets" and "Endless Symphony" are all examples of classic TEN's sound while "The Wave" is an amazing ballad with some orchestral parts and Gary Hughes emotional vocal lines. One of my favorite tracks from this new album is the tune of "The Hourglass And The Landslide". A really great track with a nice catchy chorus and perhaps the most commercial track from "Stormwarning".

Bottom line is that "Stormwarning" is a very good album. I can't say that this is my favorite album so far but for sure the final result pleased me a lot. There are some very good moments here and for sure "Stormwarning" will end up high in this year's Top albums.
