Tom and James met Nick 10 years ago when KICK was supporting Brit rock legends Thunder on the first of their farewell tours. In the time that followed, the guys had always wanted to work with Nick and the opportunity arised in May 2009. The two brothers and drummer Dan Chantrey met Nick for a second time at a U.K. rock festival. Conversations about movies and music finally moved on to the all important question... "When are we going to work together?". The answer ended up being the next day, and VEGA was born.
So, what we have here is a twelve track album full of beautiful melodies, memorable choruses and a tight songrwitting. My personal opinion is that VEGA isn't something breathtakin' or a future classic. For sure, it's a well crafted AOR album with some really good songs in it. N. Workman's vocals are top notch and he is givin' an extra 'push' to the final result. The songs remind me, a bit, of early Journey and Bon Jovi with a pinch of U2! There are plenty of good mid-tempos and ballads but, also, some cool up-tempos and the final result will please every fan of pure AOR sound. All in all, this is a very good melodic rock album.
