Hion Martell

Hion Martell (pronounced "high on Martell," a nod to the famous cognac brand) is a five piece band from the small town of Ljusdal, in Sweden. Their album 'Will Cure Any Disease' is the band's seventh CD, but the first released on the label Viskningar och Vrål. The album is distributed by Plugged Music in Scandinavia, by Sonic Rendezvous in the BeNeLux region, and by Disk Union in Japan.

The band's music is influenced by the British blues rock (Rolling Stones, Status Quo), American Southern rock (Lynyrd Skynyrd) and 70's glam rock (Sweet, Slade) as well as giants such as Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry. All boiled down to a distillate that satisfy the most demanding rock & roll connoisseur.

The album was recorded in several studios. In order to find a sound that fits the band's style, the MarLen Studio (Färila, Sweden) was chosen. There the digital hard disks are thrown out in favor of analog tape and really good microphones. Parts of the album are recorded in the famous Lakeside Studio (Sundsvall, Sweden).

The single 'Built As A Boxer' is released for download on November 10.
