Helloween / 7 Sinners (2010)

This is a solid album! "7 Sinners" is the 13th studio album from the German Melodic Metal act Helloween. The fact is that I have never been a big Helloween fan. But, also, I have to say that albums like their masterpiece "Keeper Of The Seven Keys I & II", "Masters Of The Rings" and the "Time Of The Oath" are all classic in my book.

So, what we have here is the brand new album which is titled "7 Sinners". As I said earlier, this is a solid album. It's heavy, fast and it has everything that a metalhead could ask. The fact is that "7 Sinners" is probably one of the heaviest albums that Helloween has ever recorded! I really liked this album. Big pounding drums, sharp guitar sound with some very nice solos and riffs and overall strong performances.

Highlights here are the anthemic first single, "Are You Metal?", which is a really impressive metal tune! The classic power metal sound of "My Sacrifice", which delivers some big guitars, pounding drums and the soaring vocals from Andi Deris. "Who Is Mr. Madman?" is the 'natural' sequel of the band's earlier hit "Perfect Gentleman" and a track that sounds like an outtake from "Master Of The Rings". "You Stupid Mankind" and "If A Mountain Could Talk" are both excellent tunes from this new album.

Bottom line is that Helloween is back with this new album. An album that is far better than their latest efforts and shows that this band is still alive and is battling to keep their crown in the power metal world!
