SO FAR SO GOOD..............TILL NOW!! WHAT'S NEXT?

So, the first half of 2010 is gone and what we have, musicaly, till now from this year's releases looks very good. What we have is good but also the forthcoming releases seem very promissing too! First of all, the new Pretty Maids album, after 4 years of silence, is probably one of the best releases for this year. Pretty Maids are back with a very strong and heavy effort, something that reminds their glory days of "Red, Hot & Heavy" and "Spooked" , a great comeback. Another one legendary group is back, Y&T with the very good "Facemelter".  A totally back to their roots album. FM's "Metropolis" is an excellent Brit hard rock album while another one 'old' band like Giant is also back with the pretty good "Promised Land".
Recently the 'bad boy of Rock N' Roll', Vince Neil released his new solo album. The fact is that a lot of people were excepting a new "exposed" or somethin' like that, but Neil released an album with covers and only two new tracks. Overall a very good release.
But for sure this year's oscar will go to Sweden!!! That's for sure. Crashdiet, H.E.A.T. and Crazy Lixx have released some really strong efforts. I also think that these three bands are holdin' the sleaze/hard rock/AOR flag high!
Let's go back to the U.S. and the great comeback of Ratt. "Infestation" is the barand new album from Stephen Pearcy, Warren DeMartini & co. and it rocks hard. A glorious come back album! The veterans of heavy metal/hard rock Scorpions, have released their last album which dragged with an around the world live performances. One of the biggest surprises of this year's half is probably Rock Sugar, the band of Jess Harnell and his gang whose released a fabulous album of mash-ups! Covers from great bands such as Bon Jovi, Metallica, Def Leppard, Ratt and many others. Very good work. Some really good albums are coming from the new label Avenue Of Allies including albums like the fantastic project Shining Line and the good 80's band Skill In Veins. We have also the come back from Grand Illusion with their very good "Brand New World", the second solo album from the mighty Chris Laney "Only Come Out At Night", Wig Wam's party Rock N Roll album "Non Stop Rock N Roll" and the madman's Ozzy new effort which is titled "Scream" , with Gus G. on the guitars.
Of course there are more, of this year's first half, releases. Some of them are good some bad or average. These were the releases that imho were the best so far. About the near future? The second half of 2010?
