Pretty Maids / Pandemonium (2010)

Pretty Maids are back and they are back with a great melodic metal album! Four years after the fantastic "Wake Up To The Real World",  Pretty Maids new album comes to show that this band is alive and kickin'. "Pandemonium" is an album that reminds a lot of the band's first two releases, "Red Hot And Heavy" & "Future World". I can't say if this album is gonna be a classic in the future, but for sure I can say that this album ROCKS!! It has everything that a fan can ask from this band. It has all of the power and the energy of their earlier works, great songwriting, huge melodies, memorable and inspired choruses and hooks, heavy riffs, great production and most of all the great voice of Mr.  Ronnie Atkins on top form! The first track, "Pandemonium" opens the album with a heavy riffing and some angry and 'rapsy' vocals from Ronnie Atkins, what a great way to start this album. This track is maybe one of the heaviest tunes that the Pretty Maids have ever recorded. "I.N.V.U. " continues in a more melodic way with a great chorus and probably one of the most commercial tracks here. "Little Drops of Heaven " is the first single of "Pandemonium" . A very good track with a huge melody and a great hook line. "One World One Truth " is my personal favourite tune from this album. It's heavy with a nice 'big'  melody and a huge chorus, a track that could easily fit in "Wake Up...." album. "Final Day of Innocence " is a super melodic track and it's the most different track from the new album. An excellent one! "Cielo Drive" is a heavy hitting song with a monsterous guitar work and powerfull in-your-face vocals. "It Comes at Night " is a solid track, with some   proggressive elements. "Old Enough to Know " is a fantastic mid-tempo tune with a very beautiful melody, is one of these tracks that its melodies can stick in your mind for days. "Beautiful Madness " is a heavy paced one that in my opinion is probably the weakest moment in this album. "Breathless " is another one mid-tempo track with a catchy chorus, a classic Pretty Maids tune. The album close with "It Comes at Night ", but this time is a remix version, good enough. All in all this is another one high-quality release  from this great band. Pretty Maids are stronger than ever and with such albums it seems that they are gonna be in the music scene for a long long time. Well done.
