Van Halen / Van Halen (1978)

This is Van Halen's first effort, and with this record a new 'guitar hero' was born. Eddie Van Halen was the guitarist who almost invented the 'picking' on the guitar. What can I say about this album? A lot, that's for sure. First of all, Eddie is a guitarist that has inspired a whole scene and a lot of guitarists out there were  trying hard to play or to sound like him. Second, the music they were playing was tougher, more up-tempo with big harmonies and third they had a frontman, David Lee Roth, who had a fantastic energy in stage. All this made a great combination and finally Van Halen became one of the most impact bands in the rock world the last 30 years. This is a classic release! 10/10
