George Gakis has been a longstanding figure in the Greek rock music scene. He created ''The Troublemakers'' in May 1993, as a five person (melodic) rock group, influenced by groups such as, Whitesnake, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Deep Purple, Winger, Scorpions etc. Through his own label G. G. Records, he released three albums: ''Keep on Rock 'n' Rollin'' (1989), ''Pain in my ass'' (1995), ''Forbidden Paradise'' (2000), music and lyrics by George Gakis.

ROSEWOOD FESTIVAL PROUDLY PRESENTS : JUNKYARD 69 (GR.)

Based in Athens,Greece the hard rock band JUNKYARD 69 released their first 4-track demo during the summer of 2011.Strikin while the iron's hot they shot a video for their single called ''We want war''.Clearly influenced by the 80s Glam n' Sleaze scene but never the less havin' their own unique identity,the band is now working on their first full length album

Rosewood Festival is back with a shout, more exciting than ever! After its beginning last year, we continue the tradition, hosting some of the best uprising melodic hard rock bands of our days, bands that honor the music we've loved since the 70's! This year we are proud to present bands like :

ROSEWOOD FESTIVAL PROUDLY PRESENTS : WORK OF ART (SWEDEN)

[1992-1995] Work Of Art was formed in 1992 when Herman and Robert met while they both attended SÖL school of music. They quickly took a liking in each others songwriting and soon started to record demos together. Herman brought along his friend Lars to play keyboard and sing backup. However, the task of finding a singer was harder than expected and band was temporarily laid on ice. Meanwhile, being exposed to a lot different styles of music while studying, Herman and Robert soon ended up in a lot of different projects that musically had very little in common with WOA. Upon graduating from school in 1995 the band went their separate ways.

The band was formed in april 2007 by Ivan Stalev (gutar),Boyko Gochev (bass) and Jivodar Dimitrov (drums). The idea of the band has come from a single project called Ivan Stalev Guitar Show! Jivodar and Boyko decided to tell the idea to form a new project to Ivan and that was the begining of the new band.

Group Konkurent was founded in 1986 by Emil Anchev. During their carrier they performed hundreds of times in Bulgaria and abroad and took part in many radio and TV broadcasts. Many of the top Bulgarian musicians started their carriers from this group. So far it released 7 albums and took its place in leading rock groups in Bulgaria.

ROSEWOOD FESTIVAL (GR.) PROUDLY PRESENTS : JACK SPIRIT (GR.)

JACK SPIRIT were formed in Thessaloniki (Greece) in late 2005 by Lazarus Kaltsidis (singer) and his cousin Lazarus Xlouzas (drums) and after several member changes the band finally stabilized its line up in November 2010.

ROSEWOOD FESTIVAL (GR.) PROUDLY PRESENTS : HEART ATTACK (GR.)

HEART ATTACK is a Hard 'n' Heavy band from Greece dedicated to 80's-early 90's sound delivering dynamic but also melodic songs straight from the heart for those who care...They were formed back in the dawn of 2010 by singer George Drimilis (ex-Raging Storm) and Stergios Ntikos on drums. The line-up was completed when Μichael T. (keyboards), George Patelis (bass guitar) and Stefanos Georgitsopoulos (guitars) joined the band. By March of 2011 Stergios left the band due to personal reasons and Stefanos followed after a while…September of 2011 finds the band with 2 new members on the guitars Teo Ross and Constantinos Mavroyannis.

Dear GOTTHARD Fans – it gives us great pleasure to announce that we have found a new singer. The successor to Steve Lee, who was killed in a tragic accident last year, is Nic Maeder and is Swiss-born. Nic was born in 1971 in Lausanne, lived in Melbourne, Australia and grew up between Switzerland and “Down Under”. “Nic not only has a great voice and is a fantastic musician, but we also have a great person in our midst”, says Leo. “We can rock again at last”.

ROSEWOOD FESTIVAL (GR.) PROUDLY PRESENTS: OSUKARU (SWE)

Osukaru is the brandchild of Swedish guitarist Oz Osukaru (ex. Katana, ex. Eye) who had the dream of creating a Scandinavian / American melodic rock outfit having the "all inclusive" package. After teaming up with Los Angeles based drummer Ryan Coyle in the summer of 2008, a new friendship and musical partnership was forged and the dream was finally within reach.

ROSEWOOD FESTIVAL (GR.) PROUDLY PRESENTS : DANGER ANGEL (ATH.GR.)

Danger Angel is a hard rock/AOR band from Athens, Greece. The band was formed in 2006 by Ethan Chionos (guitars) and Spiros Foussekis (guitars), both members of several small, local bands and private projects since the early nineties. Mike Kasidakis is referenced as the original singer and was replaced by Jimmy Cage in 2008, while Antonis Venieris (drums) and Rudy Rallis (bass) joined up in 2008 too. George AHAS Lignos took over the keyboards spot a while earlier in 2007, while vocalist M.T. (vocals) joined the band in 2010, replacing Jimmy Cage.

ROSEWOOD FESTIVAL (GR.) PROUDLY PRESENTS : REDRUM (GR. / GER.)

Redrum is a melodic Hard Rock Band based in Thessaloniki (Greece). Athan 'Lyssa' Kazakis and Panos Baxevanis started the project in September of 2003 and a year later they recorded 12 songs in a local studio. After getting in touch with the well known German Vocalist Michael Bormann (ex-Jaded Heart), they΄d sent the material to Duisburg, where Michael recorded all the vocal parts and co-write a couple of the songs.

ROSEWOOD FESTIVAL (GR.) PROUDLY PRESENTS : WILD ROSE (GR.)

Wild Rose original idea was sprung in 2004 by Andreas Peyos. In the original composition, due to the impossibility of finding musicians who could support this style of music band, the line-up didn’t remain stable for long and it took a lot of time to create a mellow sound of an AOR band. After trying for two years, and after continuous changes in composition, Wild Rose reached a basic line-up, which was introduced in 2006 to the audience with songs composed by Andreas Peyos: Andreas Peyos - Guitars & backing vocals Sotiris Anthopoulos - Vocals Vangelis Domanos - Drums Philip Sakaloglou - Bass Haris Patsos - Keyboards & backing vocals Very soon Sotiris Anthopoulos left the band to pursue a solo career in singing, and the role was taken by Andreas Peyos 2007.

Hungryheart began their musical adventure at the end of ’90, playing in the most important North-Italian clubs and earning popularity by gigging as supporting act with some international bands.

ROSEWOOD FESTIVAL (GR.) PROUDLY PRESENTS : NEWMAN (UK)

Newman was formed in 1997 by Singer/Guitarist Steve Newman. He enlisted the help of Mark Mulholland (Drums) and William Marshall (Bass) for the first self-titled album which was subsequently released in Germany that following year.

SO FAR SO GOOD.....THE BEST OF 2011 !

2011 has been a very productive year musicaly till' now. Some really great albums so far that make it so difficult to build up a TOP list and with some up-coming releases in the near future it will be more and more difficult for the final list!
