REVIEW : HYDRA, Point Break (Frontiers Music s.r.l. Release: 12 August 2022)

Hydra is the brainchild of Swedish songwriter/musician Henrik Hedström, who is a songwriter based in Stockholm for many years. Together with his long time friend drummer and producer Daniel Flores (First Signal, Find Me, The Murder Of My Sweet) create the new melodic rock band HYDRA

Flores plays drums and keyboards on the album, while vocals and lead/rhythm guitars are handled by Andi Kravljaca. Henrik plays keyboards, acoustic and clean guitars. The brand new opus is entitled "Point Break" and it's out through Frontiers Music

"Point Break" in it's sum is a well-written, well-composed record that includes some excellent tunes in it with beautiful harmonic lines, sweet melodies and features a classic mid 80's pop-rock, melodic rock sound.

Highlights out of "Point Break" are the edgy opener tune of "Stop The Madness", "Bringing Down The Moon", the melodious "Angela", "Never Be The Same" and the ultra 80's AOR hymn of "The Most Wanted".

A really classic 80's AOR/Melodic Rock album that will please every single fan of bands such as TOTO, Survivor, Strangeways and Journey.
