REVIEW : DeVicious, Phase Three (Metalapolis Release: 17 April 2020)

Album number three for the melodic hard rockers De Vicious and, in my humble opinion, their best to-date. I know that sometimes when someone says 'their best album to-date...' sounds a bit cliche but if you are going to check out "Phase Three", then you'll understand me.

As I mentioned above, "Phase Three" is De Vicious newest effort and it's the logical, and one step forward, sequel to the band's latest "Reflections" that was released last year and ended up high in many 'Best Of" lists around the net.

The opening tune of "Firefly" sounds promising and, of course, is a great appetizer of what's to follow up next here. Punchy melodic hard rock with crunchy guitars and a catchy as hell chorus line enough to make you whistle it for days. "Mysterious" is heavier with, again, a huge hook and chorus line while in "Walk Through Fire" the band delivers a more AOR-ish tune that includes some amazing harmonies, soaring vocals and it's among the highlights out of the new opus. "Calling My Name", "Higher" and "You Can't Stop Me Now" are all three just excellent and pure melodic hard rock gems that all feature superb melodies, a big guitar sound and plenty of catchiness!!

I loved each and every single moment of De Vicious's brand new album. As I already mentioned above, this is the band's finest moment so far. "Phase Three" is a record that shows DeVicious's huge talent off creating solid, powerful and melodic hard rock music.
