REVIEW : Maxxwell --- Metalized (21 September 2018)

Damn, this is a great record!!! So up-lifting, so powerful and so in-your-face!!! But let's take things from the start. Maxxwell is a band that comes from Switzerland and "Metalized" is entitled its brand new, and already fourth. full-length album. Thanks to the strength of the band’s last album, “Tabula Rasa“, they played as support on tours with Michael Schenker’s Temple Of Rock, Doro, Kissin’ Dynamite, Rage & Shakra and support slots for Within Temptation, Extreme, Gloryhammer – just to name a few. In their almost 10-year career, MAXXWELL have performed in over two hundred shows.

Maxxwell in 2018 is a band that knows how to deliver ass-kickin', aggressive and in-your-face modern melodic metal stuff!! It's catchy as hell and at least for me, it is one of this year's biggest surprises so far!! The riffs are heavy, short without loosing the melody and the vocals of Gilberto Meléndez are rough and with plenty of attitude!! The rhythm section is tight and, in general, the final result is damn super!!

The first couple of tracks, "Hurricane" and "Back Again", are exactly what Maxxwell represents here; a band that will make your neck ache for days!! Yes, both tunes are powerful with plenty of riffing, catchy as hell hooks n' choruses and solid performances. Next, "P.U.T.V." is yet another killer modern metal track that will make your blood pumpin!!!! "She's Mine"  is probably one of the best tracks here; modern and more straight forward with a killer melody in it.

The darker "Scars" is beautiful, the anthemic "Monsterball" will blow your head out while in "Given It All" it delivers yet another great moment out of the new opus. In "Given It All", the band delivers a totally Five Finger Death Punch-esque song that will be a big future hit!! Love it!! Another favorite of mine is the heavier "The Temple" that includes an explosive chorus line enough to make you sing-a-long for days.

Are you ready to metalized? If yes, there is no other way than to buy Maxxweel's newest effort this September!! As I already mentioned above, this record is one of this year;s biggest surprises so far!!! Modern, 100% metal, rifftastic, catchy as hell and with tons of attitude in it!!!!

Rating : 9,5/10
