‘Heart of Stone’ is
the title of both the new single and the new EP, by Australian rocker Joe Matera
which is released on September 29. The new release is infused by an
international flavour as the Australian is not only working together with a
Dutch record company, but also the single is a full Swedish production. Both the
musicians, producer and those who mastered ‘Heart of Stone’ come from Sweden.
Joe Matera wrote his single together with Swedish bass player Peter Ljungberg
while Tomas Skogsberg (Backyard Babies, Entombed, The Hellacopters) produced the
track together with Matera.
The EP features both
an electric full-band and an acoustic version of ‘Heart of Stone’, a song about
a love gone wrong and the emotional fall-out of someone left with questioning
"why?".
In addition, the EP
also features three acoustic live tracks recorded in London during one of
Matera’s earlier European tours, and a brand new instrumental track, ‘Live To
Rock’ where Matera is accompanied by Australian guitar icon Rick Brewster (The
Angels).
As a bonus, there are
two previously released singles included to round out the EP. ‘Heart of Stone’
is Joe Matera's fifth studio release since the venturing out on a solo career in
2010 and his second release on Netherland’s based record label
RVPrecords.
As of September 29,
the new EP is available worldwide as a digipack CD in stores and via the
webstore of RVPrecords and as a digital download and stream in
Europe.
Joe Matera keeps to a
busy touring schedule both in his native Australia and Europe. During these
tours he has performed in bars, halls and festivals in Poland, Germany, Austria,
the Czech Republic, England and the Netherlands. In concert he has also
supported the likes of artists such as Australian legends Mental As Anything and
70’s tartan sensations from Scotland, Bay City Rollers.
The new release will
be accompanied by a new European tour in October.
