STEELHEART / BLACK DOG (2011)

I will start this short review by saying that Steelheart is one of my favourite bands ever. Albums like their huge debut and "Tangled In Reins" are both excellent samples of pure U.S hair metal stuff with tons of melodies, soaring vocals from one of the best performers and a big in-your-face sound. A couple of later releases didn't impress me and I'm still waiting for this band's comeback!

"Black Dog" is, as we all know, a classic tune from a classic band, Led Zeppelin. This track is one of the most recognisable tunes that Led Zeppelin has ever recorded. So, Steelheart's lead singer and founding member, Miljenko Matijevic took this great challenge to cover this classic song and he did it! The final result is pure bliss in my ears and a great warm up for what's coming up next from Steelheart in the near future! Miljenko Matijevic's voice is on top form and the band is perfectly tight giving to the song a fresher approach. Well done!
