Bang Tango / Dancin' On Coals (1991)

Bang Tango was formed in 1987 in Los Angeles, California and were signed to MCA Records that same year. "Psycho Café" was the band's debut album and was released in 1989. And, although MTV gave considerable exposure to the single "Someone Like You," the album wasn't able to crossover to mainstream success. So, 1991 and it's time for Bang Tango's follow up album of "Psycho Café", which is titled "Dancin' On Coals". Somewhere between hair metal, punk and funky, "Dancin' On Coals" is a very good album. All of the songs are well played with some nice choruses and melodies but in my opinion the album lacks of some standout tracks. It's not that the album is bad or something like that, but you can't find the tracks that will grab you from the first listenings. Highlights here are "Soul to Soul ", the ultra-catchy "Dancin' on Coals", the huge tune of "Midnight Struck" and the killer track "Untied and True". All in all this is a pretty good effort from a band that never made it to become a big name of that era.
