The Defiants is a band that delivers straight forward, ultra melodic and powerful melodic rock songs. Paul Laine is a singer that is well-known for his amazing work both as a solo artist and as the lead singer of Danger Danger. Bruno Ravel in his early days with Danger Danger deliverd some classic tunes and Rob Marcello is a top notch guitarist. So, the combination of both the talent and experiance of these three musicians reflects to their and makes "Drive" simply breathtaking!!
"Hey Life" kicks-off things here in a more modern way without loosing any of the classic DD elements. Ass-kickin', powerful and in-your-face hard rock that will blow you away!! "Go Big Or Go Home" is yet another harder edged melodic hard rock gem that must be played on a maximum volume. "19 Summertime" recalls the early Sunset Strip glory days while with "Miracle" we have a very emotional mid-tempo song that Paul Laine's vocals really shines through!
The punchier "Against The Grain", the moodier "Another Time Another Place" and the melodic perfection of "The Night To Remember" are all three some excellent samples of pure melodic rock/hard rock bliss that are all containing killer guitar lines, choruses to die-for and great arrangements!!!
I think that THE DEFIANTS strikes back with a remarkable opus! To be honest, I didn't expect any less from these guys. The Defiants is a band that keeps the flame of the classic melodic hard rock scene burning and with albums like this one will keep us hungry for more. So, sit down comfortably and let The Defiants drive you through its enjoyable music ride!
