REVIEW : SUNSTORM, Brothers In Arms (Frontiers Music s.r.l. 12 August 2022)

The melodic hard rock act of SUNSTORM strikes back with its brand new opus entitled "Brothers In Arms". The new effort is going to be released through Frontiers Music this August. This is the second one that features Ronnie Romero on lead vocals.

Apart from Romero on lead vocals, the band consists of guitarist Luca Princiotta (Doro, Blaze), bassist Nik Mazzucconi, drummer Michele Sanna, and keyboardist Alessandro Del Vecchio.

Back in 2021, SUNSTORM released the "Afterlife" record, an album that featured Ronnie Romero as the lead shouter. That was a thing that mixed the feelings of the die-hards of the band and especially those who wanted J.L. Turner on mic. In my humble opinion, that was a fine album by a bunch of some excellent musicians that it included some killer songs in it. With Turner as the band's singer it was a great chapter with a couple of classic releases but that was then this is now; and now SUNSTORM are still in the game and they are still alive and kickin!!

"Afterlife" was a heavier album for the band's standarts. "Brothers In Arms" is movin' to the band's earlier sound and it's taken a more melodic rock/AOR direction and that's a thing that SUNSTORM's die-hards will appreciate it.

Highlights out of "Brothers In Arms" are the fantastic melodic gem of "Games We Play", "I'll Keep Holding On", the up-beat "No Turning Back", the ballad of "Back My Dreams", "Hold The Night" and the key-driven influnced "Miracle".

All in all, SUNSTORM's newest effort "Brothers In Arms" is a well-played, well-performed and extremely enjoyable strong hard rock album that will be appreciated by any fan of the rock genre in general.
