REVIEW : DIRTY SHIRLEY, Dirty Shirley (Frontiers Music s.r.l. Release: 24 January 2020)

Dirty Shirley is the 'music' marriage between powerhouse vocalist Dino Jelusic (Animal Drive) and iconic and legendary axeman George Lynch (Dokken, Lynch Mob). The collaboration between these two amazing musicians brings back the sound of the late 70's and, also, the sound of the classic mid 80's in front row.

The huge opener tune of "Here Comes The King" sounds like it jumped out from Rainbow's records. The voice of Jelusic is rough, powerful, heartful and reminded me of Ronnie James Dio (R.I.P.). Just check out this track and you'll understand exactly what I'm talkin' about here.

"Dirty Blues" has this Lynch Mob vibe, the groove here is simply breathtaking, in it and that's a thing that I love the most about this one. Dino 'transforms' his voice into a hard rock beast and Lynch's licks are out of this world!! The "The Dying" is bluesier, moodier and it's again another killer tune out of this project. Excellent performances, strong musicianship, a crystal clear production and everything here sounds perfect. Probably my favorite track out of "Dirty Shirley".  "Last Man Standing", "Siren Song" and the bad-ass heavy blues tune of "Cold" are all solid!!  Check out, also, the very Lynch Mob-ish "Escalator".

DIRTY SHIRLEY is what I've expected from both musicians; hard n' heavy stuff with passionate vocals, a 'dirty' and groovy guitar sound and solid songs without a filler in sight. If you love bands such as Lynch Mob, DIO, Rainbow, Animal Drive and Dokken, then DIRTY SHIRLEY is a must add to your collection!!
