REVIEW : Michael Bormann's Jaded Hard, Feels Like Yesterday (RMB Records, 2019)

To be honest here I just love Michael Bormann's voice. One of the best shouters out there, extremely talented and, in my opinion, a vocalist that should have more popularity, no doubt about that. His days and troubles with Jaded Heart are long gone and nowadays Mr. Bormann is back to business with a new project/band and he is ready for big things.

Michael Bormann's Jaded Hard is a band that regarding the sound it recalls to Bormann's days with Jaded Heart and, of course, his recent solo records. "Feels Like Yesterday" is melodic, powerful, emotional and edgy with Michael's unique vocals on front row.

The opener tune of "Feel Like I'm Living" is pure gold. This is, ladies and gentleman, the true Jaded Heart sound that we all grew up with. Edgy and powerful with a killer chorus line enough to make you whistle it for days. "It Feels Like Yesterday" is a mid-tempo rocker that shows the vocal abilities of Bormann and it's one of those tracks that we used to love to listen to from Jaded Heart. Some cool rockers such as "Bring Me Higher Love", "Good Times" and "Won't Surrender"  brings some nice n more relaxing rhythms, acoustic parts and big melodies with while in "Just One More Step Away" we are dealing with, probably, the best tune here. Up-tempo and with a punchier vibe in it this one is a true highlight. In "I'm A Son Of A Gun" Mr. Bormann delivers a more metallic sound and he creates yet another killer moment out of "Feels Like Yesterday". Two more songs that will leave you hungry for more are the groovier and 'bigger than life' "Mr. Mysterious" and the more commercial "Everybody Is A Rockstar".

A big welcome back to Michael Bormann who released a killer opus all the way. For the fans of the earlier Jaded Heart albums but also for every melodic hard AOR fan out there "Feels Like Yesterday" it is a mandatory purchase.

Rating : 9/10
