REVIEW : WARRIOR SOUL --- Back On The Lash (2017)

Back in the early 90's Warrior Soul came out of nowhere and, for sure, made a big noise in the hard rock scene. A band that combined perfectly the punk with hard rock and along with a more metallic edge made an impact back then. Angry, pissed off and politically incorrect Warrior Soul released some great music and gained the respect of both fans and critics.

Drugs, God and the New Republic” (1991) ,  “Salutations from the Ghetto Nation” (1992)  and, of course, the amazing “The Space Age Playboys” (1994) are all three solid samples of Warrior Soul's music.

Nowadays Warrior Soul are releasing their brand new opus which is entitled "Back On The Lash" and Kory Clarke and his gang are ready to rock our world. "American Idol", the opener, is brilliant; classic Warrior Soul track (“fuck you, I am the American Idol”!) and that means that includes all the muscle n' attitude of the early Warrior Soul sound. "I Get Fucked Up" is yet another aggressive/pissed off  and very 'political' tune while in "Thrill Seeker" we have another highlight out of the new record. The 'Motorhead' influences are obvious and Kory sings his heart out!! The album closes with the powerful, fistful and loud "That's How We Roll".

There's not much to say here except that, if you are a fan of Warrior Soul, then you have to add "Back On The Lash" to your collection.

Rating : 8/10
