REVIEW : SWEET LEOPARD -- Horny House (2017)

From the band's name, Sweet Leopard, or even from the album's title, "Horny House", or if you take a close look at the front-cover, you get the picture of how this band's sounds. Yes, yes, Sweet Leopard is a band that plays old-school glam n' sleaze hard rock with attitude.

I really didn't know the existence of Sweet Leopard til' now that I received the copy of their brand new opus with the title "Horny House". As I already mentioned above, the band plays old-fashioned glam n' sleaze hard rock that brings back the late 80's scene and bands such as Pretty Boy Floyd, Poison and some newer like Crazy Lixx (the first two albums) an' Crashdiet.

The opening tune of "More Than God" is a punchy and with tons of attitude tune that sounds like it jumped out straight from the 80's. "Fairytale" is just awesome!! A fast forward and in-your-face sleaze gem that takes no prisoners. F#@in' perfect!!!! "I Don't Wanna See You Again" is yet another killer track out of this record. Up-tempo and very Pretty Boy Floyd-esque with a catchy melody that travels you back to the good old dayz!!! "Look For Love" is heavier and much sleazier (if you know what I'm talkin' about) while in "Night Of Gold" we are dealing with another very good and rocking song. "Under Stars" is a good power ballad (reminds me a bit of Erotic Suicide) and the ultra rhythmic "Burning Love" is one of the best tunes in this new album.

For sure, Sweet Leopard did not discover America, no doubt 'bout that. There are thousand other bands that did that style back then, no doubt 'bout that too. But the one thing that I can assure you with Sweet Leopard's new album is that they play their hearts out and bring back this style of music with attitude and they deserve your attention!!!!

Rating : 8/10
