REVIEW : EDEN / EDEN (2016)

Eden is a new melodic rock band that consists of  Alessandro Iovannitti on drums, percussion & backing vocals, Paolo Castellani on keyboards, Stefano Mastrangeli on guitars & backing vocals, Patrizio Izzo on lead vocals and Giordano Latini on bass & backing vocals.

Originally formed in 2011, Eden's goal was to create a band that will play melodic rock/AOR in the vain of classic bands such as Bon Jovi, Europe, Journey, Survivor and House of Lords.

After the first spin of Eden's album, I have to say that this band has all the package to become big! All the songs are well-crafted, well-played with the right attitude and includes great melodies, memorable hooks and choruses, very good guitar lines and a late 80's feeling in it.

The first highlight comes with the catchy "Dreamin'". A haunting melody, crunchy guitars, beautiful vocals and a clever chorus in this really brilliant tune. The Journey-esque "Fear Has Gone" is yet another very interesting track while the more U.S. flavored "I Know You Know" put more muscle here. "Enemy" and the slower "A Change In Life" are both fantastic melodic rock slices made in an old fashioned way.

This is a solid record that includes a bunch of some killer tracks in it. Eden balances perfectly between melodic hard rock and the AOR sound of the late 80's, with beautiful melodies and the right attitude, and at the end achieves to offer us a strong and very enjoyable record.

Rating : 8/10
