So, here we are with Sunstrikes's newest opus, with the clever title "Ready To Strike" (The cover art was done again by Carl-André Beckston (Monowasp)), that once again guarantees to give us another record full of big melodies, catchy hooks and choruses, very good songs and superb performances thanks to Christian Eriksson's amazing vocal abilities. Like in the debut, Sunstrike here as well teamed up once again with Erik Mårtensson (Eclipse, W.E.T.) to handle the mixing and the mastering of "Ready To Strike".
The new record starts impressively with a fantastic tune! "Head Over Heels" kicks-off the things here and believe me we have the first winner! An up-tempo melodic rock gem with a huge melody to die for!!! "A Piece Of The Action" and "Firework" are both punchier rockers while in the key-driven "Hurricane" we are dealin' with a monstrous AOR anthem that will make you wanna whistle it for days. "Rock This House", "Angel In My Room" and "Someone To Love" are all three fantastic samples of pure melodic rock/AOR bliss that includes great choruses, solid arrangements, big harmonies and a crunchy guitar work!! Check out, also, the very H.E.A.T.-esque "Heaven" that will blow your mind with its explosive chorus line!!
Bigger, better and with more attitude; that's exactly my impressions of SunStrike's new record!! Sunstrike with "Ready To Strike" strike's back to rock our world for a second round! A must have for every serious melodic hard rock/AOR fan out there!
