REVIEW : HOPES DIE LAST / Alpha Wolves (video single) 2015

The band was formed in 2004 from Ladispoli near Rome, as a group of teenage friends. The band played in shows in Rome and, after, in the whole Italy. Hopes Die Last released Aim For Tomorrow in 2005, an EP that contains six songs. In August 2009, the band released the first full-length album, called Six Years Home and the next year HOPES DIE LAST toured in the UK.

On February 14, 2012 the band released the second album “Trust No One” With the singles Unleash Hell, Never Trust the Hazel Eyed and Keep Your Hands Off (feat.NEKSO). 2013 saw the band returning with a new EP, which was entitled WOLFPACK.

Nowadays, H.D.L. is working hard for its next step but also is celebrating its 10th anniversary of being a band followed by a new line-up by welcoming Yuri Santurri on Bass and Danilo Menna on Drums.

Hopes Die Last sound is movin' between metal-core, hardcore and (early) emocore. Heavy to the bone guitars, powerful and in-your-face performances, a tight musicianship and a strong 'touch' of melody are the ingredients of H.D.L.'s sound. "Alpha Wolves" is the perfect sample of Hopes Die Last 'who is who' and for the fans of this particular scene is a great opportunity to discover a solid band. Even if I'm not a big fan of this genre, I have to say that I like what I hear and have to check out the band's earlier works. Well done.
