REVIEW : SNAKEYES / Ultimate Sin (2015)

SnakeyeS, is a project that started by Jose Pineda, Justi Bala and Carlos Delgado (from the Spanish heavy metal band SPHINX) and Romanian singer Cosmin Aionita (9.7 RICHTER). The band released its debut E.P. in Nov. 2013 and got an awesome feedback from all international reviews. Nowadays, Snakeyes is back with a new full-length record which is entitled ”Ultimate Sin”, The first single, "Ultimate Sin", can be viewed here : https://youtu.be/7FSorDPxSpc

The cover artwork for ”Ultimate Sin” was designed by artist Felipe Machado (Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, Iron Savior, Rhapsody).

Snakeyes is a band that stays faithful to its influences, the the classic 80's metal scene. The guitar work is sharp and heavy with plenty of riffs and solos, the rhythm section is tight as hell and Cosmin Aionita is the true defender of legendary singers such as Rob Halford and Sebastian Bach. I think that Aionita is the perfect shouter for this really great band. Except of the Judas Priest influences, which are more than obvious, there are also some Skid Row, from the"Subhuman Race" era, touches.

I think that after the above mentioned things about Snakeyes one thing is clear; Snakeyes rocks big time. Yes, they rock in an old- fashioned way and the sure thing is that will make each and every single metal-head out there very very happy!! Not a filler in sight in "Ultimate Sin", just pure and traditional ass-kickin' Heavy Metal with lots of attitude. Check it out!
