WARNER DRIVE / City Of Angels (2014)

Notorious for its high octane live shows, the band is renowned for its relentless tour schedules, clocking up over 200 shows a year for the past three years. Having worked with producers Mike Clink (Guns N’ Roses, Motley Crue, Megadeath) and James Michael (Alanis Morrissette, Deftones, SIXX:AM) on their debut album, WARNER DRIVE went on to sell an impressive 10,000 copies independently, cutting out the middlemen and triumphing in the name of independent music.

Nowadays, the band presents its brand new effort which is entitled "City Of Angels" and it's about a solid record full of heavy riffs, attitude, power and passionate performances. The music can be described as modern heavy rock with plenty of melodies and sing-a-long choruses. Take for example the opening tune of "Rising From The Fallen" which is an excellent sample of WARNER DRIVE's music! Energetic to the bone with a 'punchy' sound that grabs you from the start and leaves you hungry for more! "Boys 'N' Girls" has a more commercial vibe, it's up-tempo with an explosive chorus line to sing-a-long for days! Brilliant stuff! "Open Our Eyes" is quite technical with a 'darker' twist in it, theatrical I would dare to say, and it's among the highlights from the new album. "West Memphis Three" is another killer commercial song while the punkier "Fully Loaded" closes this album perfectly!!

I have to admit that WARNER DRIVE is a pleasant surprise and one of the many pleasant surpises of 2014 so far. Their music is high-energetic with a positive vibe, the musicianship is top notch and all of the songs here are well-written and well-performed! Well done!
