Andy Rock started to play in rock bands in the early 2000. His main influences are some of the greatest rock acts such as Bon Jovi, Michael Bolton and Richard Marx. In 2004, Andy Rock formed Wild Rose and together they released a sensational melodic rock album in 2011 which was titled "Half Past Midnight". The album received great reviews from the net and ended-up at position #5 on Heavy Paradise's 2011 Top 20 list!
The guitarist always composed more songs besides the ones for Wild Rose and now he is ready for his debut solo album. Besides the guitar work, Andy is responsable for the vocal duties in this album and for all the instruments except the drums. He wrote all of the songs in "Into The Night" and mixed and produced it at EVO STUDIOS HELLAS together with Dr. Love's shouter Chris Siloma who, also, can be heard on backin' vocals.
"Love Is Not A Game" is the perfect opener. It brings back memories from another time and to be more precise this track seems to have come out from a band back in the 80's. Nice harmony, an extremely melodic guitar solo from Andy and a memorable chorus line. "It's Not Over" would fit perfectly in Wild Rose's debut album. A simply perfect AOR tune and one of my personal favourite from this debut. "U Belong To Me" is another brilliant example of how talented this guy is!! Yes, Andy Rock has the talent and skills to write some really catchy songs with great harmonies, memorable chorus and very good arrangements. "Lonely Heart" is an emotional ballad while in "Cryin' Every Night" we have a melodic rock gem!! More attitude here with Andy's guitar in the frontline and a chorus line to die for!! "I Wanna Be With You" is a more laid-back pop rocker with a sweet melody and a huge solo. "Waiting For Your Love" is ok and "Without You" seems like a leftover from Wild Rose's debut. "Emotions" is an instrumental track, "Out On The Streets" has a feel-good vibe in it and last we have "Into The Night" which is the album's highlight!!
Overall, I would say that this is an extremely enjoyable release all the way. Andy Rock is a very talented guy and that's a thing that reflects to his music. He is capable to deliver a good melodic rock tune with 'clever' arrangements, catchy hooks and choruses and some serious high-skilled guitar work. His music is full of emotions and his vocal performances are more than ok, I'm sure that the future is smiling for him and for Wild Rose. Well done!!
