ROYAL HUNT / HEART OF THE CITY (BEST OF 1992-1999) (2012)

Prog metallers Royal Hunt are celebrating their 20th years of existence and what's better than a best of compilation from the band's 1992-1999 era? Scarlet Records will release this compilation album in a limited digipack edition which will includ ten songs from Royal Hunt's first five albums plus an exclusive artwork.

Danish Royal Hunt's were originally founded in 1989 by keyboardist Andre Andersen. They made a big success back in the mid-90's with albums like "Paradox" and "Moving Target". They have experiened several line-up changes while their original vocalist D.C.Cooper left the band and Mark Boals took his place in 2007. Mark Boals replaced by John West in 2011 and last year great news came for the die-hards while D.C.Cooper was back again! With Cooper they did a tour, covering the first albums and , also, they released a new album "Show Me How To Live".

The album features two songs from each of the first five albums. "Running Wild" from 'Land Of Broken Dreams', "Tearing Down The World " from 'Paradox', "Making A Mess " from 'Moving Target' and generally some of the band's earlier 'hits' that made this band known worldwide to the heavy audience.

Ovearall, this is an interesting release and a great start for those who aren't familiar with Royal Hunt's sound.
