REVIEW : QUIET RIOT -- Road Rage (2017, Frontiers Music s.r.l.)

Quiet Riot is without any doubt one of the most respectful bands by both hard rock and metal fans out there. Having released some classic records so far such as "Metal Health" and "Conditional Critical", Quiet Riot continue their musical journey with their brand new opus which is entitled "Road Rage".

Led by drummer Frankie Banali, who is joined by veteran bassist Chuck Wright (he has been in and out of the band since 1982), guitarist Alex Grossi (he has been in the band since 2004), and new vocalist James Durbin, the band continues to be an unstoppable force in the rock ‘n roll world.

The new shouter of Quiet Riot is no other than the winner of the American Idol contest James Durbin that comes on board to give the extra 'push' and the necessary freshness to the band's sound.

With the opener tune of "Can't Get Enough", we have the first highlight of the new opus. Rocking and with attitude classic Quiet Riot stuff at its best. I like it a lot!! "Roll This Joint" continues to deliver old school rock 'n' roll with Durbin's superb vocal lines in front row. "Freak Flag" is a good and kinda of moodier track while in "Wasted" the band delivers, once again, a great and rockier tune with a cool guitar solo. I loved, also, the groovier and bluesier "Make A Way" and the extremely melodic "The Road".

All in all, this is a solid record all the way. I think that Quiet Riot with "Road Rage" achieve to add another strong sample of pure and old-fashioned record to their classic catalog. And one last thing; Durbin's vocals really shines here!!! Well done!!!

Rating : 7,5/10
