Hate Tyler is an Italian Heavy Metal band and this is the band's debut album which is titled "The Great Architect". The band consists of Davide Grillo on lead vocals, Marco Pastorino on guitars, Federico Maraucci on guitars and Liuk J. Abbott on drums.
Their music is a mix of aggressive heavy metal with some thrashier and proggressive elements as well without loosing the necessary melody. "Devil Park" starts with a nice and melodic riff and after one minute comes the real thing; a heavy-thrashy in-your-face tune that takes no prisoner! The vocals are aggressive but the chorus line remains catchy and melodic. The influences from bands like Pantera are more than obvious."Stop Me" is another thrashy tune while "Need To Hate You" has some very good arrangaments but the 'death' vocal lines spoils the whole song!! "Anything Else" is the album's best track, imho!! Amazing riff and a melodic line to die for!! The chorus line is superb and everything in this song flows perfectly!
I have to say that this music isn't my cup of tee at all, even if I like Pantera and some other thrasier acts a lot!!! I'm into some more melodic stuff with 'clean' vocal performances! This band has the talent, that reflects in their music, and I think that in the near future we will hear some 'bigger' things from them. My opinion is that if the vocals were 'cleaner', the result would have been so much better.
