LUCKY THIR13N / MARCH OF THE YOUNG (2011)

It seems that Greece's hard rock attack continues! After Outloud and Wild Rose more recently, it's time for a new band from Thessaloniki which is called Lucky Thir13n. The band played in several shows in Greece and, also, was the opening act for Crashdiet and WASP. They, also, have released an EP, "Far From Home".

So, nowadays, the band is coming fullforce with their debut album called "March Of The Young". For this album, Lucky Thir13n had the helping hand of the mighty Bruno Ravel (Danger Danger, Westworld), who helped them for the mastering of this release. 'Alibi" is the opening track, after a short intro, and it's a nice modern hard rock tune with a good rhythm but it lacks a bit in the chorus line. "Feels Like Coming Home" has a nice and 'heavier' riff  and it's harder edged than the opening tune. A tight rhythm but, again, I was excepting a cathier chorus. "Get In My Way" has a memorable hook and chorus while "Rivers Run Dry"  is the heaviest track so far! Aggressive with some in-your-face/rapsy vocal lines and a song that also features Invoker as  a guest.

"Amazing" is...amazing! Yes, from the very first notes you get a cool hard rock melody and when it comes to chorus the song gets better and better! In my opinion, it's the best track of the album! "Another Memory" is the typical 00's hard rock stuff in the vain of Daughtry and Nickelback. A cool one!  "Forever Free" is ok and "Yeah, I Want It!" has a feel-good Rock N Roll vibe in it! In "R'n'R" are featuring a couple of guests and it's a very interesting song. It's has energy, in-your-face vocals but some rapsy vocal duties as well. "Operation Overload" is nice and the last track, "Say Goodbye", is another winner. A killer modern rock song!!

All in all, this is a good release. It has some very good tracks but, in my humble opinion, it lacks a bit in the choruses. I would prefer some cathier choruses and hooks in this one. I, also, believe that this band has a bright future and I expect their next work to clear up my thoughts better.
