HOUSE OF LORDS, The biography!

House of Lords' eponymous debut was released in 1988. It was one of the best debut albums ever and featured a heavy sound with emphasis on keyboards and big melodies. The debut received critical acclaim and the band toured with Cheap Trick and opened for Scorpions in 1989. The album featured one major hit, "I Wanna Be Loved" (Hot 100 #58). After touring, original guitarist Lanny Cordola left from the band and his place took Michael Guy!
Their next effort was "Sahara" (1990) and featured a list of guest musicians. The musicians that participated were Doug Aldrich, Rick Nielsen, Chris Impellitteri, Mandy Meyer, David Glen Eisley, Robin Zander, Mike Tramp, Steve Plunkett and Ron Keel. The first single & video was the Blind Faith' cover "Can't Find My Way Home" which did well on Album Rock Radio peaking at #10. The second single "Remember My Name" was a bigger hit at Top 40 radio hitting #72 on the Hot 100 and a Top 5 regular on DIAL MTV. Soon after the single peaked, Chuck Wright and Ken Mary (drummer) would leave from the band.

In 1992, House Of Lords released the "Demons Down" album! "Demons Down" described by James Christian as his favorite release and this album features Dennis Chick on guitars, Sean McNabb on bass guitars and the 'great' Tommy Aldridge on drums. "Demons Down" was a bit heavier than their two previous releases and from this one spawned two singles for the title track and the ballad "What's forever for which would have been massive hit in the pre-grunge era. After recording some demos for an upcoming release, the band parted ways.

HOUSE OF LORDS : THE NEW ERA!
In 2004 House Of Lords reunited and released "The Power And The Myth" album. For sure it was a great pleasure that a great band came back after years of silence! The album mixed-up the feelings of the die hards cause the sound was a bit updated and not so close to the band's earlier recordings! Not a bad release, in my opinion.
2006 and it was time for the band's best album to date! "World Upside Down" was House Of Lords' new album and what an album! Big melodies, catchy choruses, great performances and a really huge sound on guitars! The album received great reviews from all over the net and the fans were pleased that their favourite band returned to more melodic hard rock paths!
Soon to follow was a live album HOL album, " Live in the UK " which was released in January 2007.

2008 was marked with the release of the long awaited next new studio album, which was titled "Come To My Kingdom"! Jeff Kent was again solicited to write “all the lyrics and melodies” with the exception of one song on this new amazing CD. Even the title came from Jeff Kent's Lyric on the song “Come to My Kingdom”, used as the title of the entire CD "Come to My Kingdom", which was again followed by a limited European, US tour.
In 2009 it was time for a new album by House Of Lords whith the title "Cartesian Dreams". An album with similar sound to the band's latest releases. The fact is that House Of Lords are reborned and with albums like "World Upside Down", "Come To My Kingdom" and "Cartesian Dreams" are ready to lead the melodic hard rock scene of today.

In a conversation that I had recently with Christian's wife, Robin Beck, she told me that a new House Of Lords album will see the light of today, hopefully, later in 2011!
