Bon Jovi / Crush (2000)

Bon Jovi’s first album for the 00’s. After the softer but overall pretty good ‘These Days’, Bon Jovi is back with ‘Crush’. I remember back then my impatience about this album. I mean that 5 years since their last effort were too much! So, I went to my local cd store and bought that album. My first impressions were a bit mixed up, but after a lot more listenings I’ve cleared things out! Didn’t liked it!!!! Ok, this album contains some really good songs but for this band’s standarts the final result is a bit average. The album starts with the huge and anthemic tune of “It's My Life “ which is probably one of the best tracks that Bon Jovi have ever recorded.

‘Say It Isn’t So’ is a good track with a nice melody and ‘Just Older’ is another rockin’ tune again with a memorable chorus line. But even if you can find some other good enough tunes here and there, still you can’t find these tracks to make you want some more. But this is only my humble opinion. The sound here is once again very good but the songwritting lacks of big and inspired choruses (except of "Its My Life") and hook lines. All in all this is an album, from one of the biggest names in the hard rock world ever, which compared to Bon Jovi’s earlier releases isn’t too good.
