REVIEW : EDGE OF FOREVER, Native Soul (Frontiers Music s.r.l., Release: 6 December 2019)

Edge Of Forever is a band that was formed back in 2002 by the 'mighty' Alessandro Del Vecchio (who is well-known by his numerous collaboration as an artist and also as a producer in many bands). Edge Of Forever has already released three albums.

The debut opus, "Feeding The Fire", was produced by Marcel Jacob (Talisman) and gained positive feedback from both fans and press. The second album "Let The Demon Rock n' Roll" was produced by Bobby Barth. Both releases featured Bob Harris as the lead vocalist. With album number three, "Another Paradise" Alessandro handled the vocals and he did an amazing job.

Nowadays, it is time for Edge Of forever's newest opus with the title "Native Soul" that is gonna be released through Frontiers Music this December.

The music of Edge Of forever can be described as classic hard rock stuff with a more U.S. hair metal approach and it includes some killer guitars, strong vocals by Del Vecchio and a strong rhythm section. The lyrics here are about the native concepts of life, faith and love for mother earth.

Songs like "Native Soul", "Promised Land" and "Carry On" sound just like the perfect sample of Edge Of Forever's music. Edgy, emotional and deep with strong emphasis on the lyrics. The choruses are more than catchy and, in general, all three are great. The Talisman-like "Take Your Time" is in one word killer while in "Shine" we have a very emotional and sweet power ballad. I just love here the vocals of Alessandro. The edgier "War" is solid and "Wash Your Sins Away" sounds very Hardline-esque.

With such a talented and gifted musician like Alessandro Del Vecchio is, nothing can't go wrong, most of the times. I personally own every single record from Edge Of Forever. I like them all, to be honest, but with this new one, "Native Soul", I think that this band delivered its best opus to-date. Stronger, edgier and melodic with fresh ideas and with a killer production. Taste it!

Rating : 8,8/10
