REVIEW : Licence, N.2.O.2.R. (Metalapolis Release: 2 August 2019)

Licence is a female fronted melodic hard rock/metal band that was founded back in 2014 in Ludwigsburg/Germany. The debut album "Licence 2 Rock" was released in 2017 and gained positive feedback from both press and from the lovers of the classic metal/hard rock sound of the late 80's.

Nowadays, the band releases its brand new opus with the title "N.2.O.2.R." (Never Too Old To Rock...) through Metalapois Records

The opening tune of "Line Of Fire" is exactly what the doctor ordered; fistful and classic melodic heavy rock that will please each and any fan of this particular sound. The vocals of Jacky Coke are powerful, in-your-face and along with the amazing heavy riffing of Steam Thiess makes this opener a dynamic start of this new record. "From Hell" is a track that reminded me a bit of Motley Crue's earlier works (think somewhere between Shout At The Devil and the debut...) while in "Hell Freeze Over" we have another cool tune out of "N.2.O.2.R".

Other highlights out of the new record are the heavier "Rise Up", "Turn Around", the catchier "N.2.O.2.R", "Never Let You Die" and the more commercial "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" (which is my personal favorite here..).

So, bottom line is that LICENCE with their new album continue to deliver a strong blend of some classic and pure 80's melodic metal/hard rock stuff with powerful performances, heavy riffs n' some ass-kickin' solos! Play it loud!!

Rating : 8/10
