Back in 2008, Hungryheart was born and filled my hungry heart with happiness!! Yes, these Italians put a wide smile upon the face of every melodic hard rock fan out there. Their Bon Jovi-esque influenced music was damn perfect! The band consisted of Josh Zighetti on lead vocals, the extraordinary guitarist Mario Percudani, Lele Meola on bass guitars and Emilio "Pingo" Sobacchi on drums.
The album kicks-off with the edgy rocker tune of "Rock City" and continues with the superb melodic rock gem of "Stealing The Night". The U.S flavored "River Of Soul" takes us back on late 80's while the ballad of "Hang On To Me" is just excellent and so emotional.
The punchier "The Only One" is yet another highlight out of this album; somewhere between Trixter and Tyketto this track is just killer. I love the guitar work of Super Mario here! The same goes for "Innocent Tears" and the heavy/bluesier "Hard Lovin' Woman" which are both excellent samples of pure late 80's, early 90's. melodic hard rock paradise.
One of the true highlights here is without any doubt the anthemic and up-tempo tune of "It Takes Two". Man, I just love this one! I love the rhythm here, the hook and the ultra catchy chorus line and in general every little thing about this track is perfect!!! The cover of Michael Bolton's hit "Gina" is another strong moment.
One of the best debuts that I enjoyed to death back then strikes back to rock our world once again!!! Sharp guitars, soulful performances, killer tracks and with a late 80's vibe in it that reference to bands such as Bon Jovi, Trixter and Tyketto "Hungryheart" is a must have for every fan of this particular era!!!
