REVIEW : Ron Keel --- Metal Cowboy (EMP Outlaw / EMP Label Group, April 2018)

Originally released back in 2014, Ron Keel's "Metal Cowboy" is back for another ride! Ron Keel is well-known for his work with STEELER and, also, his eponymous KEEL with classic albums THE RIGHT TO ROCK and THE FINAL FRONTIER (both produced by KISS' Gene Simmons).

As I mentioned above, "Metal Cowboy" was released back in 2014 and it was a damn fine sample of pure classic and edgy rock stuff with some strong country n' Southern pinches.

The first couple songs of "Metal Cowboy",  "My Bad" and "The Last Ride", are pure n' killer hard rock songs that sounds like they jumped out from Keel's earlier works. With "Just Like Tennessee" we have the first strong country/southern influenced tune. Somewhere between Bon Jovi's latest works and Keith Urban "Just Like Tennessee"  sounds solid.

"Dead Man Rockin'", "Wild Forever" and the groovier "When Love Goes Down" are all great samples of Ron Keel's music. Rocking guitars, powerful vocals, melodies and a big bad groove that you feel it in your bones!!! One of the album's highlights is without any doubt the edgier "Long Gone Bad". Man I just love this one!

Ron Keel's "Metal Cowboy" is a solid, bad-ass, groovy and rocking record that made my day!! Don't miss that out!

Rating : 8,5/10
