REVIEW : Dante Fox / Breathless (2016)

It's been already 20 years since Dante Fox's debut album, "Under Suspicion". Nowadays, this melodic rock act is ready to unleash its brand new opus which is entitled "Breathless". The new record features keyboardist Eric Rango and vocalist Lee Small who sang harmony backing vocals.

One of the band's strongest points are without any doubt the lead vocalist Sue Willetts. Her powerful and sweet voice is a trademark for Dante Fox sound and that's a thing that can be heard in any of the band's albums.

"Breathless" includes every little thing that the melodic rock fan could expect from Dante Fox and that is a tight sound, excellent guitar lines, well-crafted songs and, of course, superb performances.

The opening tune of "Young Hearts" is pure melodic rock paradise!! An up-beat melodic gem with a chorus line to sing-a-long for days. "All Eyes On You" kicks-off with a heavier riff, huge keyboards and Sue's breathless vocals. For sure, a winner out of the new record. "Break These Chains" is a great and moodier pop-rocker with a strong 80's feeling in it while in "Broken Hearted Man" Dante Fox delivers an amazing and soulful ballad and one of my favorite tunes from "Breathless". "Dynamite" and the 'punchier' "How Will You Know" are two more highlights out of the new effort.

Top class melodic rock stuff from a great band. Dante Fox returns to this scene with a killer album that can't be missed by any fan of the melodic sound in general.
