Longtime Stryper frontman Michael Sweet and Dokken / Lynch Mob guitarist George Lynch are teaming up for a new album to be released in 2015, but they’re getting a jump on things with their new song ‘September.’
The poignant song reflects on one of the most tragic events in American history — 9/11 — with the lyric video featuring a waving American flag serving as the initial backdrop before giving the way to the words, which are depicted with city skyline graphics.
Sweet tells Loudwire of the track, “The song ‘September’ was written as a simple reminder to stand strong against our adversaries and even more important, to stand united. We are resilient and although we have faced some of the most horrific events imaginable, we will rise above all due to our spirit, love, bravery and determination. Love conquers hate and that will never change.”
Sweet himself produced the duo’s upcoming album, which is expected to arrive in February 2015. Keep an eye out for more details on that as the collection’s release date nears. In the interim, check out this first taste of new music by listening to ‘September’
