HEAVY PARADISE ON STAGE : JUDAS PRIEST / WHITESNAKE / FIREWIND (06-07-2011)

Brilliant live! Yes, last night's gig left me hungry for more! Thessaloniki's (Gr.) 2310 Festival welcomed thousands of people to see these two monster bands (Whitesnake and Judas Priest) performe live. The opening act was the Greek Power Metal band of Firewind.

The fact is that I was a bit late and I saw a couple of Firewind's songs but from what I saw the band was in top form and they pleased all their fans. I think that this band is among the elit of Melodic Power Metal acts across the world.
Next it was Whitesnake's turn to set the stadium on fire!! It's the third time that I'm seeing the Snake's live and every time is gettin' better and better! Last night, this legendary group played their heart out and gave us something to remember for a long long time! The only low point was, again, the sound. But hey, you can't have it all even if you are talking about Whitesnake. David Coverdale's voice was over the top and it seems that the time passed him by! This guy is simply one of the best performers in the rock history! Doug Aldrich "smoked" yesterday!! This man is phenomenal. The rest of the band was tighter than ever and their set list contained old but, also, newer tunes from their 'Forevermore' release. Great! Just great!!!

WHITESNAKE SETLIST:

Best Years / Give Me All Your Love / Love Ain't No Stranger / Is This Love / Steal Your Heart Away / Forevermore / Doug Aldrich & Reb Beach solo / Love Will Set You Free / Brian Tichy solo / Slide It In / Fool For Your Loving / Here I Go Again / Still Of The Night / Soldier Of Fortune (a cappella)

And the band that closed yesterday's evening was Metal Gods Judas Priest! The big black curtain wrote...EPITAPH....and then under the sound of Black Sabbath's classic 'War Pigs' the band appeared!Even if I'm not Priest's fan I have to admit that they teared the walls down with their performance! The set list contained songs from their entiry discography and they had some special on stage effects as well.

JUDAS PRIEST SETLIST :
Battle Hymn / Rapid Fire -Metal Gods-Heading Out To The Highway -Judas Rising -Starbreaker-Victim Of Changes-Never Satisfied-Diamonds And Rust-Prophecy -Nightcrawler-Turbo Lover-Beyond The Realms Of Death -Sentinel -Blood Red Skies-The Green Manalishi (With The Two Pronged Crown)-Breaking The Law-PainkillerHellion / Electric Eye

For sure it was a great live.....
