PUMP / AGAINST EVERYONE'S ADVICE (2003)

This is an awesome release! A really heavy sound in this one plus the very talented frontman of Brainstorm, Marcus Jurgens, and a solid as a rock production by Tommy Newton, and here you have an excellent collection of  heavy rock tracks.

"Against Everyone's Advice" was originally released in 2003. This German band is, for me, the perfect combination of Skid Row, Dokken or even, in some parts, Accept. The fact is that the Skid Row spirit is in the whole album! The big and loud guitars, the tight sound and Jurgens tough voice remind us of Skid Row's "Slave To The Grind" album in most of the songs here. Really impressive is the work from the famous producer Tommy Newton, who used to work in the golden 80's with German cult melodic metal acts like Victory and Helloween. Even if this album looks perfect, there's still something missing here. Maybe some more catchier choruses would be welcome. But hey, let's not complain! This album rocks and
rocks big time. There are some impressive heavy rock tracks but, also, some very beautiful mid-tempos and ballads that make this release a must have for every fan of traditional hard rock sound.
