LITTLE ANGELS / JAM (1993)

The fact is that I dig this band, a lot! Albums like their debut and "Young Gods" will always have a special place in my cd collection. For me, Angels had it all back then to become huge. In a part they have achieved it. They sold many copies, they toured with some 'famous' names and they had the attitude to reach for the sky! "Jam" was the band's third full length album and it was released in 1993, the grunge year! So, as you all can asume that year wasn't the best year for a hair metal/hard rock band to continue...

"Jam" was overall a very good album! Maybe a bit softer than their previous works but, for sure, a decent one. This time the guys put their bluesier side and they are delivering a solid album. Still you can find the party-rock-anthems like "The Way That I Live", "Too Much Too Young" and "Don't Confuse Sex With Love" , which are all up-tempos with sing-a-long choruses and a feel good vibe. One of the best tracks here is the heavier tune of "I Was Not Wrong". A superb piece of melodic hard rock track with a huge chorus line! Excellent! Except of the hard rock side of "Jam" there is a, also, a pop-rock side thatI really like a lot. Songs like "Soapbox", "Womankind" and "Sail Away", showed a band's softer face with amazing result!

All in all, this is a very interesting album by the Angels. As I said above, this one maybe a bit softer but, for sure, it's a great album from a great band.
